Quagga : Our Team

Len Pears
Owner, Strategic Planner and Broker
After more than 22 years in property and related industries, Len sold his company, The Pears Property Group, in an effort to simplify his life and allow him time to enjoy his first love Harley Davidson's. With his wife, Doreen, they started Quagga Property Brokers, a lean and effective brokerage company, where both Len and Doreen personally attend to every sale and lease agreement. They are assisted by a dedicated team - Gideon Oosthuizen, Nick Burke and Karin Steenkamp. Quagga Property Brokers is a small company specializing in personalised and individual service, with excellent property knowledge and expertise, and connected to the who's who in the industry.

Doreen Pears
Owner, Admin and Accounts
After following a successful and enjoyable career as a teacher in both Gauteng and Cape Town, Doreen joined Len in starting a property group. Doreen took up the reins of looking after the administrative side of the group, ensuring that this side ran like clock work so that the brokers could focus on what they did best. Doreen took up retirement with Len as a passionate Harley enthusiast she was looking forward to spending time on her bike. She now divides her time between running the administrative side of Quagga Property Brokers and letting her hair loose on her Harley.

Kelly Burke
Publicist
Kelly is the daughter of Len and Doreen Pears, and runs Flux Communications, a specialist publicity and PR company. Kelly handles all of the day to day media liaison work, as well as strategic planning to ensure top of mind awareness for Quagga Property Brokers in their key markets.

Flux Communications handle such accounts as Stepping Stones Addiction Centre, Manuka Café and Fine Wines, Health Studies College, Brain Harmonics, BKM Watch and ultra marathon running champ Ryan Sandes to mention a few.

Gideon Oosthuizen
Executive Assistant
Gideon started his career in the FMCG trade in 1983 in the liquor industry. He fell in love with the food trade and trained for more than three years to become a chef, buying and selling restaurants and butchery shops. This was his introduction to the property industry. Gideon now works along side Len as an Executive Assistant at Quagga Property Brokers. It is extremely satisfying to bring sellers and buyers together and assist in getting a deal done, which benefits both parties, says Gideon.
