Karoo Salon Up for Grabs
Posted: 20th January 2010
The Karoo Saloon – a well known jaunt for bikers and vintage car enthusiasts all around South Africa and those who enjoy travelling the famous Route 62 – is up for sale. This 27 hectare biker’s themed stop-over pub and grub with accommodation is a short 15km from Barrydale and under 230km from Cape Town, making it a great destination venue or stop over on route up and down the popular road to the Garden Route and Eastern Cape. “We are very proud to add the Karoo Saloon to our portfolio,” says Len Pears, director of Quagga Property Brokers and keen Harley Davidson biker. “We are confident that whatever business is run from this property it will be a success due to its location.”
Built in 2006, the Karoo Saloon offers accommodation for campers, bed and breakfast or just a quick sleep over. It has existing liquor, business and restaurant licenses in operation, and approval for conference facilities. The property boasts the following: 3 en suite rooms and 3 rooms with shared bathroom facilities, a 2 bed roomed en suite cottage; a working windmill, 3 phase electricity, 2 boreholes, padstal and general dealership approved, a barn on site, a swimming pool and braai facilities. “The property comes lock stock and barrel – except for a few personal items that the owners will point out,” says Len Pears.
Karoo Saloon has an extensive existing client base, extending to many international visitors, with regular visits from the Harley Davidson Club of Cape Town members and other biking club members. Its location also makes it a very busy stop over as it has very high visibility from Route 62. The famous route 62 runs through Robertson, Montagu and Barrydale en route to Outshoorn and over the Outeniqua pass to George.
There are exquisite walks and mountain biking tracks through the mountains and farmlands.
The property is selling for R4.1million – if you are interested in learning more about this property or viewing it please contact Len Pears from Quagga Property Brokers on 08 28 28 28 58 or view it on www.quaggapropertybrokers.co.za
