Deco dance breathes new life into old Charlie Parkers Sea Point
Posted: 12th November 2010
The legendary Charlie Parker's Club on Sea Point Main Road spirit is alive and well in the new Deco Dance club that has recently opened at the venue. Quagga Property Brokers MD, Len Pears, was able to secure the new premises for the club owners and assist them in moving their very successful club from the Old Biscuit Mill to the new venue.
"It was a challenge to find a venue to that could embody the real spirit of Deco Dance and all that it stands for as well as have the necessary space, security and parking available," says Len Pears. “But I personally don’t think we could have could have found a better venue than the old Charlie Parkers Club that had attained cult status in the 80’s."
The club boasts two dance floors and 2 separate bars, allowing the club’s management to run a smoking and non-smoking section for club goers.
"We have worked very closely with the Sea Point City Improvement District to ensure that the club attracts the right quality of patrons, and assists in keeping the neighbourhood safer," says Shane Leith owner of Deco Dance.
SAPS have installed CCTV camera's right outside the club, allowing the club and its patron's full protection and safety. Deco Dance has their own professionally trained security to ensure that the club and surrounding areas stays drug and hooligan free.
So for a bit of a walk back in history and to have a great 80’s styled party then give Deco Dance a try for a good time
